"Make the right choice" from peace education online programme (Prem Rawat)

Summary: Choice is a powerful tool for shaping our lives and overcoming ignorance. When we choose clarity, strength, and wisdom, we embrace peace, which leads to fulfillment and a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world.

Organized Themes:

  1. The Power of Choice:

    • Choice is a weapon against ignorance and the things you don't want.

    • It determines your destiny and brings people together.

    • Make choices based on clarity, strength, and wisdom.

  2. Engagement and Perspective:

    • When you experience something, it becomes a part of you.

    • Conversing with others allows you to see from different perspectives, but you must let go of doubt to fully engage with new experiences.

  3. Peace and Fulfillment:

    • Peace is essential for feeling complete, and true wealth lies in inner peace.

    • Appreciating your breath and present moment leads to a sense of fulfillment.

  4. Self-Understanding and Freedom:

    • Act based on your own understanding; you can't live through others' perspectives.

    • Freedom comes from both external factors and internal growth, as you align your choices with what truly matters.

Detailed Notes I take from this seminar given by John Carroll on peace education programme:

When you experience something, it becomes a part of you. Engaging with others allows you to gain a glimpse of their perspectives. If you cling to doubt and your own perspective, you can’t fully experience new things. Sometimes, you need others to truly understand or "taste" something. Beliefs shape perspectives, and you must be open to giving new things a try. You can always return to where you were, but to move forward, you have to live in the present.

Choice is your weapon against ignorance and the things you wish to avoid. It can save you and bring people together. Your choices determine your destiny, and we bear the consequences, not our government or neighbors. Therefore, choose clarity over doubt, strength over weakness, and wisdom in life. Prem Rawat believes choice holds the key to changing the world. Peace is a fundamental requirement for humanity to feel complete.

If you want to be rich, learn to be generous. If you want to be strong, learn to be gentle. If you want to be knowledgeable, learn simplicity, and you will become truly wise. Ignorance leads to arrogance. True wealth is peace. In truth, you already have everything, and it all begins with you.

How is choice your secret weapon? What choices are within your power? Choose dignity because it is the source of power. Choose based on what you already have, and develop an understanding of the choices we have as human beings. There should be no greed and no harm in your choices. The more we act with clarity and purpose, the more fulfilled we feel, as it aligns with the way things are meant to be.

Make the right choices when you understand what choices are available. Don’t live for others or through their understanding. You must act based on your own understanding because you can never fully comprehend what others understand or feel. Identify with your strength and peace within. Swallow your pride and be at peace in how you communicate with others. Freedom comes from both external circumstances and internal growth.

You may think you are unfortunate without truly appreciating your true fortune: the greatest gift, your breath. When you recognize this, you will feel fulfilled, and everything will feel just right.
